Wolfie's Story
Wolfie is a true gentleman. Calm, dignified, and easygoing, he’s mostly laid-back but will happily take a lap or two in a fenced yard if another large, playful dog invites him to join in. He enjoys the company of other big dogs and could live with multiple large dogs with zero issues.

Wolfie loves his antlers and does best with a slow feeder at mealtimes. Because he’s a big boy, we give him daily Cosequin to keep his joints strong—he currently has great mobility and no joint issues, and we want to keep it that way.

He’s generally quiet, though he may join in if the rest of the pack decides it’s time to bark. Wolfie is house-trained, knows how to use a doggy door, and walks beautifully on leash.

At home, he’s a fan of the couch (if that’s okay with you!) and prefers to choose his own sleeping spot at night—but he certainly wouldn’t turn down a cozy dog bed in your room.

Due to a mild prey drive that can show up on first introductions, we recommend a home without small animals or cats. We believe in being candid rather than taking risks. He currently lives peacefully with dogs ranging from 4lb chihuahuas to 75 lb Pit mixes at the sanctuary.

Wolfie can be a bit timid when meeting new people, but he has never shown aggression toward humans. Because of his size, we recommend a home with older children (ages 9+).
