Winter's Story

Winter likes to observe. She may not be the first to jump into play or to greet a new person. She is most comfortable when she can sus out the lay of the land or have a better idea of the human being good intentions with them. It takes no time for her to jump right in with new doggy fitness, and it doesn't take her long to warm up to a new human stranger either. Once she has deemed you are her person, and will be your most loyal companion and will snuggle with you for all of time.

Winter's idea home is one with a mentor dog/playmate to spend her days with. She will do best in a gentle home who will advocate for her, and give her agency of choice. She will not do well in a home where she is forced to do things she doesn't understand, know how to do, or is afraid of. Winter's breed mix is a mystery to us! But we anticipate that she will be medium size, around 45lbs. At 15 weeks old, she is crate trained and pretty much potty trained.

If you live in DC/MD/NoVa and would like to be Winter's new BFF, please fill out an application for her on our website at https://forms.gle/B6sqGVi59Jzc2CTg7 to begin the process.

Due to the puppy's young age, adopter of this puppy must be home most of the day. Adopter will also be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered and include a spay/neuter fee at the time of adoption for a future spay/neuter with one of our affiliated veterinarians.

The puppy is up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives. The adopter will need to arrange for the puppy's spay/neuter surgery for when the puppy turns 6 months of age.

If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.foreverchangedar.org/adopt-a-pet to learn more about our adoption process.
