Winter's Story

This sweet and lovable guy came to the shelter after a Good Samaritan found him running down the highway dragging a leash, injured and in need of some "groceries".

Winter is starting to gain a bit of weight and is healing from his injuries. He now needs a soft place to rest. Winter is on the older side of middle age (we believe he approx. 8 years old). He is low energy and quiet and really no trouble at all. We are almost certain that Winter is 100% deaf.

Dogs that are not yet spayed or neutered are available for "Foster-to-Adopt."

Please note: We only offer fostering to individuals in and around Nevada County.

Our foster-to-adopt program is for dogs awaiting their spay or neuter. During this period, you’ll foster until their spay/neuter surgery is complete, after which the adoption becomes official.

Adoption fee is $125.00. Sammie’s Friends dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and are up to date on their flea, tick and heartworm prevention prior to adoption.
