Meet Winston! <br/><br/>Winston is a gentle, sensitive boy who needs a quiet, calm home where he can feel safe and build trust at his own pace. He has a history of being shy and fearful, so new people and busy environments can be overwhelming for him. He does best when people sit down and give him the opportunity to approach rather than expecting him to interact right away.<br/><br/>Once Winston feels comfortable, a whole new side of him comes out! He can be playful and energetic and truly enjoys affection, especially under-the-chin pets. With the right person and a little patience, Winston has so much love to give.<br/><br/><br/>Winston must go home with another dog. He appears to benefit from canine companionship and will do best with a compatible, friendly dog who can help him feel more secure. He can sometimes be a bit sassy when meeting new dogs, so a meeting prior to his adoption would be beneficial for him.<br/>He has experience with cats, but from what we know he will chase them- ideally next home will be cat free!<br/><br/>His ideal home is an adult-only household that is quiet, calm, and predictable, without a lot of activity or visitors coming and going. Winston can chase cats, so a home without cats would be best.<br/><br/>Winston can have insecurities around his food bowl around other dogs, so he will need to be fed separately to help him feel secure and prevent resource-guarding situations.<br/><br/>Winston isn't looking for a busy household-he's looking for a patient person, a canine companion, and a peaceful home where he can take his time building confidence.
