Winston's Story

Winston is a big bundle of love and enthusiasm wrapped up in a fluffy 70-pound Sheepadoodle body. He came to the Appalachian Animal Rescue Center a few months ago, and while we don’t know much about his past, we can tell you one thing for sure: Winston is looking for love with a family who will adore him.

This goofy guy is basically a giant puppy who loves to party with his friends. His play style is full of pouncing, leaping, and joyful zoomies, so he’ll do best with medium to large dogs who can keep up with his energy. True to his Old English Sheepdog roots, Winston has a natural herding instinct that sometimes shows up in play, so a family that appreciates his big personality and playful style will be perfect for him.

Despite all his energy, Winston is also very people-focused once he bonds. He’s attentive, eager to please, and ready to shower his humans with affection.

Because of his thick, gorgeous coat, Winston will need regular grooming every 6–8 weeks to stay comfortable and looking his best—so his new family should be prepared to either make friends with a professional groomer or know their way around clippers and brushes.

Winston’s Wishlist

A forever family who will love his silly, affectionate nature

A canine playmate (medium or large) who enjoys high-energy games

Regular grooming to keep his coat as fabulous as his personality

Plenty of love, patience, and room to play!

If you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, and joyful companion who will keep you smiling every day, Winston is waiting to meet you.
