Winona's Story
Our girl Winona is the sweetest soul you’ll ever meet. She wants so badly to bond with her person, and that includes wanting to follow them on any plans for the day.

She was pulled from a neglectful shelter in TX that was shut down for animal cruelty, but she ended up in a neighboring shelter that would have to euthanize her if they couldn’t find a spot for her. And that’s where we came in. She’s been through a lot in her short life, but now she’s safe and looking for a fresh start!

She does get along with dogs, but we encourage a controlled introduction, so she feels safe. Too fast and she might be a little snappy or defensive, but she recovers quickly. She is learning to open up more and more every day, and she’s started to understand that other dogs can be friends and playing isn’t so scary.

Even though her past is traumatic, she’s already taking steps toward recovery and happiness, and we know she will thrive with someone who can help her learn more about being a family pup.
