Ex: work at home, retired, at home parent, work opposite, etc)

12/15/25-What a little love bug Winnie is! She loves spending time with us whatever we’re doing…putting up Christmas decorations, watching football, playing with our resident dogs…she wants to be right in the middle of all of it with us. She’s a very gentle spirited pup who’s ready to please. She now hops into her crate whenever we ask her to. She’s got the curiosity and adorable silly energy of a puppy, yet she’s extremely easy going. We trimmed the hair around her eyes which seems to be helping to reduce her tearing. Her coat is very soft and she doesn’t shed hardly at all which is a plus with a white dog. She’s getting more comfortable with saying hello to strangers. She’s still afraid of the car, so will need some training to help her overcome that fear. She’s very quiet when riding in a car, she just trembles. She was spayed today so she’s now ready for a furever home where she can get lots of love and snuggles!

11/23/25-Winnie continues to settle in wonderfully and is going to make a perfect pet in her furever home. She has learned to sit on command reliably, and she’s learning the “crate” command. She’s a very eager learner who wants to please people, and is highly food motivated. She enjoys being mentally challenged with toys and games. She plays really well and gets along great with our resident dogs. She’s still curious about cats, but co-habitats with them just fine. She likes running around in the yard, but she seems like she could also do well in a smaller home with a small yard as long as she was walked regularly several times a day. She gets the zoomies in the house and has lots of fun playing both inside and outside. She’s a very loving pooch who loves being with people, and being as close to people as she can possibly get. She has learned to be in her crate quietly whether or not we’re home. She’s also quiet throughout the night now. She has the cutest little snore when she’s snoozing after playing. She’s very easygoing. Washing her face, clipping her nails, brushing…she doesn’t care as long as she’s getting love and attention. And she loves her belly rubs. Winnie’s spay is scheduled for Monday December 15th. She’ll also get her second DHPP shot then. Once she is spayed she’ll be ready to go to her furever home!

11/14/25-Winnie had her pre-spay checkup & shots today. Unfortunately since she is in heat the vet wants to wait until she is out of heat to schedule her spay. She also tested positive for lyme disease but she’s not showing any symptoms. After her spay she will be on antibiotics to get ride of the lyme.

11/9/25-After being with us for just a week, Winnie has settled right into the routine of living in a house. She’s energetic and playful but not crazy, and quiets down to lay with our dogs in the evening. Winnie is curious and outgoing, but listens well and is very easy to train. She has already learned to sit on command. She entertains herself with toys and enjoys walks and playtime with people as well. She gets along great with our resident dogs - shares toys, polite when food and treats are being given, and snuggles with them on their shared beds. She also respects them when they softly growl at her to let her know they have had enough of her puppy play. Her crate training is coming along great. She’s much quieter in her crate than she was initially. Just a short whimper once in awhile now. We have a bedtime routine with her and that has helped her to settle in her crate much better at night. She goes all night and for several hours during the day with no accidents in her crate. She’s only had one accident in the house in the week that we’ve had her. We clipped her nails tonight and she was falling asleep while we were doing it. We’re working on getting her used to riding in a car. She’s nervous but calmly sits in a lap for cuddles while riding. Winnie LOVES doggie puzzle toys! She gets so excited when we get them out. She just about turns inside out with excitement, and her cute little wiggle butt wags like crazy when we come home from work/ school. If you’re looking for a cute, sweet, fun girl who’s full of love, Winnie’s got all that of those qualities and more!

11/3/25-Winnie is a really sweet little girl! She’s settled in quickly and made good friends with our 2 dogs. She’s a little wary of our cats, but she’s gradually getting brave enough to say hi to them. Winnie has a great appetite and is very polite when taking treats from your hand. She hasn’t had any accidents in the house or in her crate. She happily walks along on a leash for the most part, although she does dart around so you have to be careful not to step on her. She loves to be petted and to be with people. She has such soft fur, and a very thin coat (she’ll need a jacket for outdoor play in the cold weather!). She follows us all around the house wherever we go because she likes to be close all of the time. Winnie will need time to warm up to her crate. The beagle in her came through when she was pretty vocal her first night in there, but she’s already quieting down a little as she’s getting more used to it being her safe space. She’s a quick learner and very food motivated. She’s learning to stay off of the furniture (she climbs it like a mountain goat), and to be quiet and keep all 4 feet on the floor to get petted (no need to cry, jump, or scratch). She’s picking up on improving those behaviors so fast with positive reinforcement. We can already tell that Winnie will do best in a home where she can be very active with her people. She’s a very happy girl whose tail goes nonstop when you’re petting her. She’s a real sweetheart!

11/02/25-Winnie is a 9 month old terrier/puggle (pug/beagle) mix rescued from an overcrowded breeder. She arrived into foster care today thanks to her transport volunteers. She came in with 4 more puggle & puggle mix puppies from the same home. We have had many others in past from this breeder & they have all been very sweet & great dogs. She is already settling right in at her foster home & getting along great with her fur foster moms! She has her pre-spay vet checkup & shots on Friday 11/14 & will set up her spay as soon as possible after. After we get to know Winnie a little bit more & she is spayed, she will be ready to go to her home.
