Winnie's Story
After three months in our care, Winnie's adoption fee has been waived to help them find their forever home and make room for more dogs in need!

House trained: Yes

Energy level: Medium

Noise level: Barks occasionally

My foster guardian says: My favorite thing about Winnie is what a goofball she is! Im super affectionate, loving, happy and fun! I love being with my people, meeting new friends, and playing with literally every dog I catch sight of!

My foster family cant say enough good things about me, and beware that if you ask for a picture, theyre going to show you an album! Im just amazingly cute and photogenic, so of course they have to document that!

I thrive with lots of activity and mental stimulation but also absolutely love to cuddle, hang out in my crate, and snuggle with my people while they're reading or watching tv. One of the funniest things I do is nuzzle my head into my foster mom until I achieve the optimal up-sidedown, downward-dog cuddle position. I moonlight as a contortionist, all in the name of getting snuggles!

Im a fast learner and very food motivated, so I love to train and practice tricks. I know sit, stay, down, off, drop-it, crate, out, leave it, heel, and come. Pretty smart, right?? I love treats, so training me wiht is easy! I do have a very open mind as to what constitutes a treat, and my foster family is helping me learn to be more discerning about what I try to actually ingest.

Im totally potty trained, and I love my crate to sleep in overnight, or hang out during the day when other people are home. The main thing Im working on is being left alone, since I really do not love that. I get upset when my humans leave because I worry that they are maybe going away forever! Im gaining confidence that they are going to come back though, and my foster family and I are working with a trainer to help me get more comfortable flying solo.

One of my favorite things to do is play! I love all my toys, and Im a big fan of bones and chews, and playing tug and fetch, except for the part where I bring the ball back. Actually, I mostly love you throw the ball and Ill run around in a circle with it. Have you played that before? Its so fun, I can teach you!! I also love to chase and jump and wrestle with all my doggy buddies at the park, and Im always making new friends. Id love a forever family where I had a sibling, canine or human! Being an only child would also be awesome, then Id get all the attention and snacks!

All that to say, I cant wait to be someone's co-pilot, and share all the love I have to give with my new family! If you think wed be a match, apply to adopt me today!

Please visit our website www.ruraldogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other dogs available for adoption!
