Winnie's Story
Winnie is a beautiful 5-year-old Husky girl weighing about 50 pounds, and she comes with some seriously awesome house-dog skills. She is house trained, crate trained, walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and has done well with both dogs and cats. Basically, Winnie already understands the assignment.
She is the kind of girl who is easy to love - sweet, smiley, and ready to be someone's loyal sidekick. Whether she's going for a walk, hopping in the car for an adventure, or relaxing at home, Winnie is happiest when she gets to be part of the family.
When it comes to kids, Winnie would likely do best with older, respectful children who understand dog boundaries. Younger kids may be a little too overwhelming for her, so a calmer home with dog-savvy kids would be her best fit.
Like any queen, Winnie does have a couple of boundaries. She can be protective of her food around other animals, so she should be fed separately and given her own space during meals, treats, and high-value goodies. She also isn't a big fan of vet visits, so she will need a patient adopter who can help her feel safe and advocate for her during medical care.
Winnie has so many wonderful qualities already in place and is looking for a family who will love her for the amazing girl she is - quirks and all.

Winnie's adoption fee is $400 MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue's care.
We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.northernlakesrescue.org
