Winnie's Story

Winnie 🌸

A sweet and affectionate little pit mix. Formerly known as Puperoni, she’s starting a fresh chapter with a brand-new name and a whole lot of love to give.

Winnie is a true people dog. She absolutely thrives on attention and would love a home where she can spend plenty of time with her humans. At around 37 pounds, she’s the perfect medium size; big enough for adventures but small enough to fit comfortably on the couch beside you.

She walks nicely on a leash, is making great progress with potty training and crate training, and already knows how to sit for treats when she puts her mind to it.

Like many dogs, Winnie is still working through a few quirks. She can sometimes be leash or barrier reactive, and she has a strong opinion about brooms (they are clearly suspicious). With patience, structure, and continued training, she is continuing to grow and gain confidence.

At about 1.5 years old, Winnie is past the tiny puppy stage but still young, playful, and eager to bond with her person. Pitt Friends's Adoption Policy
Thank you for considering adopting from Pitt Friends! The first step in our adoption process is filling out our application, which you can find at pittfriends.com. If your application is approved, the foster family will reach out to you directly to arrange a meet and greet at a mutually agreeable time and place. We do not have a shelter facility. All of our animals live in foster care full time, in the homes of our volunteers. Our adoption fee is $200 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, deworming, and any other medical care that is required prior to adoption. A home check and vet reference are required prior to adoption. Each dog has different needs, so if one particular dog is not the right fit for your home, we may be able to recommend another that is a better match!
