Meet Winnie

Meet Little Miss Sunshine, Winnie!

Winnie is a 6-month-old bundle of love who can't wait to become your new best friend. She is the sweetest girl around and loves to make friends wherever she goes. She is eager for adventure and is looking for a family that will take her on lots of outdoor escapades. Winnie weighs about 17lbs now and will likely be around 40-50lbs when fully grown.

Winnie was surrendered to us with her 9 siblings after the previous family had an unintentional litter of puppies and needed help finding the puppies good homes. Winnie's mom is an Australian cattle dog and her dad is a pug. Winnie is the runt of her litter.

Winnie is the perfect mix of active and cuddly and would thrive with a family that can provide her with lots of daily enrichment. She is a little Velcro dog who always wants to be by your side and join you for whatever the day holds. She has learned some of her basic manners and is eager to learn (aka earn yummy treats) and needs a family dedicated to helping her learn how to be the best girl she can be.

Winnie has done well with the other dogs she has met and has become BFFs with the dog in her foster home. She would be a great buddy for another playful dog, but she could also do well as an only dog with lots of dog friends and playtime. Winnie has done well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Winnie has previously lived with kids and could be a great addition to a family with kids 7 years and older.

Winnie has been doing well with her house training, but he needs a family who will be patient with her while she is learning and expect a few accidents. Winnie sometimes pees when excited or nervous. She likely will outgrow this behavior, but her family should be aware she does piddle a little. Winnie has been doing well sleeping through the night in a crate, and during the day when home alone. She will whine for a little, but will quickly settle in.

Winnie is such a special little girl and we know her perfect family is out there. If you think that might be you, submit an application today!

Winnie's adoption fee is $450.

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.

Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
