Winnie's Story
Winnie is a sweet, gentle girl who is still figuring out just how good life can be. She came to us from a less-than-ideal living situation, so we don’t know much about what her life looked like before arriving at the shelter—but we’re getting to know more of her every day!

Winnie can be a little timid when she first meets you or finds herself in a new situation. Give her a little time, though, and you’ll start to see the real Winnie peek through. Get her outside, earn a little of her trust, and suddenly there’s a much happier, more relaxed girl standing in front of you.

Because Winnie has already been through some big changes, she’s looking for a quieter home where she can settle in at her own pace. She doesn’t need someone to rush her—just someone willing to give her a little patience, kindness, and reassurance while she learns that she’s finally home.

Winnie previously lived around multiple other dogs, although we don’t know how much interaction she actually had with them. At the shelter, she seems pretty content doing her own thing and hasn’t shown a huge interest in other dogs. As always, slow and proper introductions would be important if she’ll be sharing her new home with other pets.

Winnie might not be the girl who throws herself into your lap the moment you meet her—but give her a chance to know you, and you may just get the privilege of watching this sweet girl blossom
