Meet Adoptable Mix Winnie - Winnie is a wonderful little girl. Little meaning -
37 Ibs of pure spunk! She's a young at heart senior searching for the same!

She would be great having another chill dog companion. Winnie loves to torment her big doberman sister and loves to hang out with her little pomeranian brother showing that big or little, she's a team player. We are unsure as to how she would do with cats but believe she would do fine.

A Little Time to Adjust:

As with most rescue dogs, it may take Winnie some time to adjust. Initially when coming to her foster home, she barked a good bit. After the first few nights, she knew she was safe and secure and settled right down into more of a routine.
Her foster family says she is NOT an excessive barker although, she doesn't mind letting you know she wants your attention!

A Trooper:

She has been through quite a lot. Winnie had emergency pyometra surgery, along with tumors removed and infections treated. Everything went perfect and she recovered with flying colors. Given a slow introduction.. You will have a forever friend.

Shy Girl but Sweet:

Winnie is a sweet girl who loves her people but she needs a slow and patient introduction to new folks. She is very shy and will hide between your legs.
Although she does show fear, she has not been reactive. Winnie is especially shy when meeting men verses women. When meeting new dogs she has been friendly.

Loves Attention:

Winnie is a champion napper and bed layer. Loves attention and to give you her paw but her favorite time is eating time. She loves her ears rubbed and wants to be your shadow.

While she doesn't show any major signs of anxiety, she does have some slight indications. Once she has time to truly settle in, this may disappear. Although, during a storm, she will hide or want to be with her person!

Learning New Things:

Winnie has been working on crate training and now goes in and out during the day. She is accustomed to sleeping in her own dog bed at night. And she enjoys going along for a car ride. Winnie is house trained but has had a few accidents at night. She likes to go for walks and is good on the leash.

• Crate trained

• House trained

• Good on the leash

• Good with other dogs

• Enjoys a car ride

• Sleeps in a dog bed

• Non-aggressive

• Behavior with small children and cats unknown

Vetting and Medical:

In our care, Winnie has received: Vet Check, Medication (temporary - like for acute infection), Spay or Neuter, Minor Surgery (such as removal of benign cyst), Major Surgery (such as cancer tumor removal), Major Surgery - Live Saving, emergency pyometra surgery, along with tumors removed and infections treated.
