Wilson's Story

Meet Wilson! Wilson and his crazy tail are ready to adopt a person. This BIG puppy has lived in a tent, car & motel room and now he is ready to live in a house with a yard to play in. Wilson is currently underweight at 62 lbs., about 11 months old, and is a large breed mix (Mastiff/Dane/GSD?). He is dog friendly and previously lived with another dog his size & several small dogs and seems to be house-broken. He is an easy-going guy & is looking to adopt an adventure buddy who will take the time to train him and give Wilson some routine/structure in his life. Wilson walks well on a leash and would make a great walking/jogging/hiking partner!
Wilson got a day out, and this is what his handler had to say about the day. “Wilson loaded in the truck bed and rode well. He is a true puppy head in a big boys body. Wilson is a high energy kind of guy, so straight from the get go, we started on our recall command and leash manners which he showed improvement on throughout his entire time in town. Would recommend some ball play or running before obedience lessons. A large off leash German Shepherd came up to him at the park and Wilson showed no signs of aggression, but he is very interested and tends to get strong in wanting to meet and play with every single dog and person around him. Marking a tree just once is not good enough for Wilson, 3 to 4 times is his motto, but that should subside when he gets neutered. He was very willing and happy to jog with his handler. Wanting to start desensitizing him to all the sights, sounds and commotion that is in everyday life, we entered one of our local hardware stores, while at first being a bit overwhelmed, Wilson really started to settle, listen to leash cues and mind quite nicely. He made no potty mistakes while in the store. He enjoys petting and praise and gives the gentlest kisses ever to be received. Consistent obedience and leash training will make Wilson a good family addition.”

Come check out our adoptable dogs at 2650 Washington Blvd, Crescent City, CA 95531.
