WILLOW's Story
****************************************************************************
“Would love for this girl to celebrate
her 2nd birthday this Aug/Sept
in her new home."

“She’s the friendliest!
Great with other pups, kitties, kids
(and also farm animals such as ducks, chickens and goats).”

“Outstanding companion,
loves being with people,
but isn't a big toy or fetch dog”
****************************************************************************

MISS WILLOW is almost 2 years old and weighs about 55 lbs. She is both an active and snuggly kind of girl. She is also playful with the perfect touch of gentleness.

On a 1-10 scale, we would rate Willow at about an 8 on energy. She is a healthy energy. meaning she is energetic, but not obnoxious. For the most part, she is quiet. If she is barking, there is a reason or purpose. She barks as a protective measure, and to alert you to anything outside the ordinary. Note that while she can be protective, she isn’t aggressive or mean. For example, she barks when someone comes up the driveway (she will notice before you do), and soon enough she is welcoming them with sweet tail wags. On the other hand, if "guests" were not welcomed, we imagine she would give them reason to think twice.

Willow loves everyone. She is dog, cat and kid-friendly. She still plays puppy style, and is in a home with kiddos, ages 2, 6, and 9... not to mention another pup or 2 in the house, and at least 1 cat.

This athletic girl loves her space, freedom and independence. The current fence she has is easily escapable, and she admittingly will help herself out. However, she stays in the general area, and does not run off. She is not a disobedient girl, yet there is still room for improvement. Miss Willow can be stubborn, and she has no problem resisting recall. Her response to COME, is a bit slow motion, and we have found that whistling for her seems to be most effective. Something we really like about her is that she isn't much of a jumper, so it is unlikely she will be knocking you over or invading your space.

Willow is house-trained, and also crate-trained. She does well without the crate so the foster has removed the crate altogether. She loves food, treats, but is not a big toy or fetch dog. She prefers a companion to play with her (dog or person), and as previously mentioned, she enjoys being active.

Overall, this goofy and silly girl isn't much of a couch potato, and not much of a licker. She is definitely a loyal companion, and loves to be around people.

A few other details about Willow...

1- Smart? Could be. She listens.
2- Food drive on a 1-10 scale is an 8. She eats like she hasn't eaten all day (even when she has)!
3- How is she in the car? Her exposure has been minimal, and does fine.
4- This pup has a low prey drive. On a 1-10 scale, we give her a 1.
5- Storm Anxiety? Minimal... not anxiety, and more uncertainty & hesitation. On another note, fire works make her a little nervous. She likes to hide, but has never been destructive.
6- Separation Anxiety? Not this girl
7- Behavioral issues? On occasion she might sneak something off the counter...
8- Where does she sleep at night? Sleeps free range (used gate prior)

This loyal angel is seeking a life enriched with activity, companionship and love.
She loves people, and would love a furry companion to romp around the house with her too! If you can see Willow fitting in well in your life and your home, please send an inquiry for a link to our adoption application.

***************************************************************************************************
Willow is located in the Houston area, and is available for transport to your area. The cost of transport is already included in the adoption fee.
