Willow's Story

YVPR does not respond to applications/inquiries originating from Petfinder.
Questions about our adoption process can generally be answered by reviewing the Adoption FAQ's.

What a beauty Willow is. Willow and her sister Saffy received their second chance in the spring of 2023 when they joined YVPR at about 4-5 months old after being found in an orchard on April 21st, fearful of human touch.

Willow is fawn colored with white socks and a sable saddle, our best guess on breed is Heeler mix. Willow is an observant, kind girl who is getting used to kind affection. She and her sister are the best of friends and perfect playmates. With time, patience, and training, she’ll be the perfect addition to any family with love to give.

Willow will require a secured fenced yard, she has been with other dogs her size and smaller at her foster home and has been introduced to many people, although she is still not sure about being petted, she will take treats and is making progress.

She is completely house trained, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and spayed. Willow weighs 46 lbs as of August.

Willow has come a long way and now needs her forever home with someone or a family where she can continue to grow and be taught more things so she can be all she can be. If you have the love, time and patience for Willow, please fill out our dog adoption application at www.yvpr.org/adopt/

An application must be filled out and accepted before a meet can be set up. If accepted, you will hear from us within 72 hours. You will have the opportunity to ask questions before you meet the pet; an adoption may or may not happen at that time.
We do adopt outside the Yakima area IF you are able to come to Yakima to pick up your adopted pet. We do not have a kennel facility; all of our pets are in foster homes. Therefore, meets and adoptions take place at either our office or at a place chosen by the adoption coordinator.
If a pet has 'Adoption Pending' beside its name, an adoption is imminent. Please fill out an application anyway because adoptions don't always go through.
Your application will be kept on file for 30 days in case you find another pet you'd like to apply for.

Thanks for thinking adoption and Good Luck!
