Willow (Chihuahua)'s Story

ATTENTION: All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs. If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application. We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt.

// // Meet Willow. Willow is a lively 11 + year-old, 23 lb senior gal chihuahua mix who still has plenty of spark and curiosity. While she seems to be a one-person little lady, she’s spunky, determined, and absolutely knows she deserves to be treated like a queen! She's not the most trusting, so establishing security and confidence between her and her person starts off slow, but once you're hers and she's yours, she is a very sweet, lovable and a loyal companion.

Willow enjoys car rides, stroller adventures, and short walks. She gets along well with dogs and cats, though she might give a few barks to remind them to move aside — her vision isn’t what it used to be, after all. Willow can be playful, affectionate and obedient, and she's house-trained and adaptable, and will quickly settles into your routine (and your heart).

Arthritis in one of her back legs requires a daily medication, but it's nothing costly and easily available on Chewy with a prescription. No worries giving it to her in a little peanut butter. Her age also means more nap time, she loves her beds, is always ready to go for a ride in the car, and is a little slow on her walks, but that doesn't prevent her from wanting to go for daily strolls with her foster sister and brother.

Because Willow has limited sight and hearing, she does best with a gentle, patient approach while she’s getting to know you. Once she feels safe, she’s an affectionate, loyal companion who just wants to be by your side. She's shown some food insecurity and does well when feeding her with a "slow feeder bowl".

Willow would thrive in a calm home where she can be someone’s cherished friend and constant companion. If you're someone that lives alone and misses the loving companionship of a sweet old lady, then consider giving Willow a Furever home. She will be your #1 and only for the rest of her days. Can you give Willow the very best golden years? She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to find her forever family. Her adoption fee is $200.

All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.

Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,

vaccinations, medical treatments,

food and supplies.
