Willow's Story

Meet the “Tree” litter from southeast Missouri! 🌳 Please welcome Ash, Aspen, Birch, Cypress, Oakley, Olive, Maple, and Willow. These sweet pups were born outdoors on November 18 and had never been inside a home until the day they were rescued.

We’re incredibly grateful that their owner chose to surrender them, giving these puppies the chance at a life filled with love, comfort, and plenty of snuggles. Mama appears to be a black Lab mix, and we suspect Dad may have had some Great Pyrenees in him—several of the pups have rear double dewclaws, a common Pyrenees trait.

Breed guesses aside, one thing is certain: these are classic southeast Missouri mixed-breed pups! At the time of rescue, they ranged in size from just 5 pounds to a whopping 14.5 pounds, making each one as unique as the next.

Maple and Willow are in a foster home together. They are both super sweet and LOVE to snuggle. They enjoy a good game of tug, love to chew on bones and are having a ball running around in the snow. They are close to housebroken as long as you let them out often enough. They are great in their crate and sleep the night with no accidents. Willow is slightly more curious that Maple but Maple will follow along when she sees her sister finding something new. Both are playful. loving pups that will make a lucky family very happy. They play hard and then nap harder! They do not need to be adopted together.

If you are interested in one of our puppies, the first step is to go to our website and fill out an application. https://placingpawsrescue.org/applications/dog-application/

BEFORE CONSIDERING A PUPPY FOR ADOPTION: Please keep in mind that puppies need attention during the day. They need frequent potty breaks, playtime, socialization and often a mid day meal. Please consider your daytime schedule before applying for a puppy.
