Dog adoption fee is $75 and includes: Basic spay / Neuter Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccine Dewormer DHPP vaccine Heartworm testing Rabies vaccine Cat adoption fee is $60 and includes: Basic spay / Neuter Combo testing (FIV / FeLV) Dewormer FVRCP vaccine Rabies vaccine Miscellaneous adoption fees vary by species. Unaltered animals may not be taken home on the day of adoption Upon adoption, an appointment will be scheduled by the shelter staff for pet’s spay / neuter. All animals are to remain at the shelter until their appointment date, after which they may be picked up by adopter from the clinic performing the operation. No animal is to leave the shelter before being altered - no exceptions. Effingham County or the shelter cannot guarantee the health or temperament of this animal(s) and the Effingham County Animal Control shelter is therefore not responsible for any liability from actions or health of the adopted pet. You are welcome to post your lost animal pictures on our page and that of the Effingham County Humane Divisions page. You may also email us a photo for our board at animalshelter@effinghamcounty.org. Please keep in mind, while we do our best to watch for your pet, ultimately the responsiblity falls on the owner. The best thing is to come in person and look for yourself.
