Willow's Story

WHAT IS YOUR NAME?
Hi there, friend! My name is Willow.

ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL?
I am a very sweet girl.

HOW OLD ARE YOU?
I am around nine years old as of mid-2026 (old enough to know what's important in life: naps, snacks, and cozy couches).

WHAT BREED ARE YOU?
I am a brindle couch potato with a PhD in relaxation.

HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH?
I weigh a healthy 40 pounds! I may not look like a superhero, but considering I weighed only 13 pounds when I was rescued, I've made an incredible comeback!

WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE?
I am the perfect-sized couch companion with beautiful brindle fur and soulful eyes that can convince almost anyone to share a snack. I'm compact, cuddly, and built for snuggling.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT?
I eat prescription kibble, and I take my meal schedule very seriously. Breakfast and dinner are the highlights of my day, and I appreciate anyone who serves them on time.

WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE?
I am the easiest dog you will ever meet. I'm perfectly content napping most of the day, enjoying a short stroll around the neighborhood, and soaking up affection from my humans. I'm low-maintenance, mellow, and incredibly grateful for the simple things in life. As long as my food bowl gets filled twice a day, we're going to get along just fine.

DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY:
My perfect day starts with waking up and enjoying a delicious breakfast. After that, I'd love to sit beside you on the couch while you drink your morning coffee and give me some gentle pets. Once that's done, it's back to bed for a nice nap. Later, a leisurely walk around the block sounds lovely, followed by-you guessed itanother nap. Dinner should arrive promptly, of course, and afterward I'd be happy to spend the evening lounging beside you on the couch. When I'm tired, I'll politely excuse myself and put myself to bed like the independent lady I am. But don't forget to tuck me in before you go to bed.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY?
I don't really play with toys very often. Every now and then, I might give it a few minutes of attention. But honestly, I'd rather spend my energy perfecting my napping technique.

DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS?
If being the best dog ever is a trick, then I'm an expert. I also know how to win hearts without even trying.

WHAT SCARES YOU?
I don't really care for feet. (And honestly, who does?) If they get too close to me, I'll simply move somewhere else. Problem solved.

HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM?
I have been around older children. I'm a very mellow girl, so I prefer calm and gentle older kids over lots of running, noise, and chaos. The young humans I've met so far have been sweet and respectful, and I've enjoyed their company.

DO YOU LIKE CATS?
My foster family doesn't currently have a cat, but I was rescued alongside a cat, so I have some experience sharing my space with feline friends.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS?
I can be a little selective about my dog friends. My foster family had a small dog that I grew to love very much before she passed away. I've also lived with a few foster dogs, and we all got along just fine by respecting each other's space. I'm not looking for a wrestling partner, I prefer a peaceful coexistence.

IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD IT BE?
Curled up on a comfy couch, taking a nap somewhere within petting distance of a human.

HOWS YOUR HEALTH?
When I first arrived at the rescue, I had several health challenges. Thanks to a tremendous amount of love, medical care, and dedication from the rescue team, I have made an amazing recovery. I still take a few prescriptions and eat a special diet, but I'm feeling great and enjoying life.

WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION?
I live with two adults and a canine foster sister. I love both the humans equally...at least that's what I tell them. In reality, whoever is preparing my dinner is usually my favorite person in that moment. My foster dad does tend to sneak me extra treats occasionally, so he may have a slight advantage.

WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE?
I relax in my crate. It's my cozy little retreat where I can nap peacefully until my humans return.

WHERE DO YOU SLEEP?
I sleep on a nice fluffy bed next to my humans' bed. They keep me in a little fenced area, which makes me feel safe and comfortable.

DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH?
Absolutely. I walk beautifully on a leash.

DO YOU HAVE ANY NOT SO GREAT HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?
Honestly? Not really. I don't bark much, I don't dig, and I'm generally a very easy roommate. My biggest flaw might be convincing people that I deserve extra treats.

ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)?
Yes, I am completely house trained.

DO YOU LIKE WATER?
No thank you. I firmly believe water belongs in a bowl for drinking. Baths are tolerated because apparently humans insist on them.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY?
They're wonderful. They provide delicious food, comfy places to nap, and endless love. In exchange, I generously allow them to share my couch. I especially love all the affection they give me and how safe they've made me feel.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOUR FUTURE ADOPTER?
I am so grateful to the amazing people at NorCal Bully Breed Rescue who refused to give up on me when things were rough in my life, but I am now ready to find a family of my very own. I'm looking forward to the final chapter of my journey: finding a forever family to love. Maybe that is you?

**WILLOWS ADOPTION FEE IS $100.**

If you are interested in adopting Willow, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org

At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County).

For more information on what that means and why that is, please click on the following link:
https://www.facebook.com/333019703483910/posts/3264412130344638/?extid=0&d=n

Thank you so much in advance!

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue's Adoption Policy
**We are currently only adopting out to the immediate Sacramento area which includes Sacramento County, parts of Placer County and parts of ElDorado County. We currently hold adoption events once a month at the Pet Food Express store in the Roseville Fountains. Please check our Facebook page for announcements! ADOPTION PROCESS: The first step in the adoption process is the completion of our online adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org. **Your application will not be reviewed if you do not live with the immediate Sacramento area which is Sacramento County, parts of Placer County or some parts of Eldorado County) The second step is the home check. Our main priority in this step is insuring that your yard is 100% secure - there can be no loose boards or gaps in your fencing. If your dog is going to be spending anytime outside while you are at work or away from home, we ask that you have adequate shade or shelter from the elements. Before we schedule a home check, we may ask you to send us photos of your yard/fencing to get an idea of where the dog will be living. If you have any hesitation or questions about our yard check, please see our section on "How to Prepare for a Home Check." The last step in the adoption process is the meet and greet. This is where we meet with you and any existing pets to ensure proper introductions are made. We want to make sure everyone gets along. Once all introductions are made, and everyone gets along, your rescue dog is yours to adopt. Please note that there is no pressure involved, and if situation that cannot be resolved arises, we will always take our dog back. Also, be aware that there is an acclimation period for each dog and every dog is different. It can take a few days or a few weeks for your new dogs to settle in. We will assist in any way possible, including referring our trainer to come work with you and the dog. ADOPTION PREREQUISITES: All of our dogs are rescues, meaning they have already needed help in some way, and will only to to homes where they will live a "CHARMED LIFE." All of our adoptive dogs will be indoor dogs with outdoor privileges. We believe that dogs are family members, and should be allowed to sleep indoors. The only time they should be kept outdoors is if the weather permits. Any applications looking for an outdoor only dog will be denied. All current pets in your home need to be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and one heartworm preventive. Out of area adoptions are within reason and on a case-by-case basis. HOW TO PREPARE FOR A HOME CHECK: Walk the perimeter of your yard. Take notes on the condition of your fence. Are there any loose boards or gaps under any sections of you fencing? If yes, these are easy fixes. You can nail any loose board back into place, and you can fill any gaps with pavers and gravel Do you have a lock on your gate? If not, please purchase one prior to your home check. Is there adequate shade or shelter for your new dog if it is going to be left outdoors while you're at work? Do you have anything hazardous in your yard, i.e. nails sticking out, chemicals left out, etc? Do you have a cat? If so, does your cat have a high spot it can retreat to if being chased? Are your garbage cans located somewhere near a gate where a dog can jump into them to get out? If so please move them. Please address these issues prior to our visit. ADOPTION FEES: All of our dogs will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to being adopted. Our adoption fees are considered to be donations. All donations from adoption go right back into our rescue account, allowing us to continue to help dogs in need. At the bare minimum, the cost to properly vet a dog is $100. But some of the dogs we take on are medical cases, which can cost several thousand dollars. Because of this, we ask the following adoption fees: $500 for puppies, which are any dogs under a year old $300 for most adult dog aged 1 year or older. (French/English Bulldogs have significantly higher adoption fees which are explained on our website.)
