WILLOW 's Story

Meet WILLOW!

We just rescued this beautiful approximately 4 year old female Corgi from a breeder where she had several litters of puppies. We are so glad we were able to get her into a foster home on her way to a new life of comfort and being spoiled. Her days as a breeder mama are over!

Willow is on the smaller side weighing around 22 lbs currently.

She has done well with other dogs especially males and submissive females. She gets very zealous with other dogs around treats and takes them very eagerly so she needs to learn a little patience and to learn to share. She’s probably never had treats in her life so we can understand her eagerness. So maybe small kids aren’t the best fit just yet.

Willow is almost fully housebroken and will need just a little patience in that department. She lived in a barn her entire life so she’s doing incredibly well already! She enjoys sniffing out in the yard and is learning to go for leash walks. But it’s been
way too cold to stay out for too long!

Willow is very friendly and enjoys being petted. She does cower initially sometimes when you go to pet her. Puppy mill dogs are typically undersocialized with humans since they spend most of their time in a pen. It’s a joy watching her settle in and open up in a foster home where she’s settling into being part of a pack.

This adorable little girl will make a great family member for a lucky family.

We would love to place her in a home with a fenced yard and another dog. Obviously a meet and greet is needed with other pups to see if it’s a love match.

Please contact Christine at christine@therescueexpress.org if interested in darling Willow.

All potential foster families and adopters are required to fill out an application, both of which can be found on our website. Our foster families are our biggest resource, and the more foster families we add to our family, the more dogs we can save. Our foster families are required to provide a loving, healthy, temporary home for the dogs that we have pulled from shelters who have yet to find their forever families. The rescue covers all medical expenses while our dogs are in foster care. We also require our foster families to work with one of our trainers to address any behavioral problems that develop. This partnership with local trainers is essential to making our foster families' lives easier and raises each of our dogs' adoption potential. These trainers are dedicated to savin
