Willow's Story

Willow is a husky mix that is estimated to be about 5 years old. This girl is every human's dream! She had a rough start to life and came to rescue after being removed from her home due to cruelty charges against the owner. She came to us with some really bad skin issues and in need of some weight gain. Her skin is so much better now but she does need regular bathing. She doesn't love her baths but will comprise if you use a warm washcloth to soap her and let her soak outside of the tub. Then put her in the tub

She loves to be outside on sunny days. She likes sleeping on the couch, in front of a sunny window. She loves soft and fuzzy blankets because of her skin issues. Sto rinse. It’s much easier for her to handle. She’s very sweet and enjoys the other dogs. She’s not scared of cats but doesn’t spend a ton of time with my cats but I think that’s more on the cats and not on Willow. She’s crate trained and is potty trained. She has accidents on occasion but it’s not very often. She’s not very interested in playing fetch or playing with toys but will join in on occasion. She loves car rides and going out in public. I take her shopping and out for treats every weekend. She walks well on a leash and is polite to strangers. She’s shy but comes out of her shell quickly when she likes you. She’s very loyal and will follow her favorite human around the house. When she’s alone she hangs out with the other dogs. She’s never chewed or destroyed anything in the house. She’s an absolute love bug and will make someone a very special companion.

SPECIAL NEEDS: Willow has an auto-immune disease. This means that she needs bathing in a special skin care product 3x a week to help with her itchy skin. She is also on oral medication daily and prescription food. Her medicine is $45.60 per month. Her prescription food is $126 for a 25lb bag of food.

If you are interested in adoption, please grab an adoption application from the forms tab and submit it to mayberry4paws@gmail.com

Adoption Fee: $250

Mayberry 4 Paws's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process starts with a 3 page application. We carefully check all vet history with phone calls and emails. If they pass that area, we check three references that have to be a mix of personal and professional as well as a check of their previous pet owner history. Lastly, if they are approved in all of these areas, there is a home inspection and interview completed. After adoption, there will be checks on the animal and its well-being, as well as calls in to the vet to ensure that they animal's health is being maintained and that the animal remains up to date on preventatives. If at any time an adoption does not work out, the dog has to return to our rescue.
