Willow's Story

Willow is crate trained, smart, loyal and a snuggler. In her foster home she has lived over a year separated from 5 frisky cats of various origins but has learned with her crate training - cats are not a toy - but we still don't trust her with the resident cats nor do we trust the cats cuz they also torment her but over the months she no longer reacts to them and their crazy cat antics - but while in residence with cats she is in a crate. Her foster parents are super careful and she obliges to the boundaries while she is awaiting a loving home. Willow is also potty trained and loves to snuggle. She visits her elder auntie human in her 80s in the nursing home and is a favorite with the elder humans and all humans she encounters - shes learned elevators are OK. She is used to a foster home where she has independence and has no separation anxiety and holds her own yet she is a loving companion. Our human neighbors on the block n Delco come and visit and she adores them and she knows many commands these days. She has also been thru doggy certification thru ACCT training to teach her handlers good techniques. She is highly treat oriented and knows many commands.

Her foster family which includes two humans in their early 50s, 5 resident cats, and 4-7 foster cats think she will thrive best without other critters but clearly she has also shown progress in her current home. She also has had some good dog meets but is still reactive to new dogs and has not had a lot of experiences with other dogs. She would need to be with a dog of her size and stature --- not a small dog. Or the only pup. She has gotten used to watching squirrels and birds at the feeder but she also likes to chase if she has the chance. She is her fosters favorite foster dog in the last 10 years but she does come with needs so its important the right fit is found and her foster parents will help gage that connection.
