willie's Story
This let down 2 yr old cattle mix arrived last Saturday afternoon from Kentucky where he lived in a hoarding situation with several others animals. The first night with his new foster mom and dad was hard but they knew this was typical and saw him lower his guard and relax Sunday afternoon with his foster sister. Everything seemed to be looking up for Willie and although tired his foster mom thought so too.

See Willie wasn’t familiar with feeling safe and protected by his humans before and while building his confidence outside on a walk he got startled by another barking dog and went into survival mode. Where he stayed for 68 hours. He ran and ran for almost 3 days because everything was new around him and he’s never felt safe. Willie was scared but so were his people. People rallied to help find him and keep him safe on his wild adventure and he eventually returned although a lil stinky safe and sound back to his foster home.

He needed to decompress all over again and realize he’s safe and people cared about him. He learned that being outside isn’t always scary and exploring can be fun safely with his foster parents. At 45lbs he believes he’s the perfect size for your lap and a good cuddle but at night he sleeps soundly and has happy doggie dreams.

Willie just needed time, a lot of patience and to feel safe with people. He’s learned so much in a short time so there’s no doubt he will be the best boy anyone could ask for. A sweet gentle boy who was failed by his former humans just hoping to feel loved and safe forever.

Willie is a 2yr old cattle dog mix that is good with other calm dogs and kitty’s. Kids is unknown but assume would do well in a home with kids if properly introduced.

Help find Willie the forever home he deserves ❤️

JessicaL.bthar@gmail.com
