William Shakespaw's Story

****PETronus Rescue endeavors to include all pertinent information for each of the dogs within our organization with regard to approximate age, potty training status, kennel training status, temperament, activity level, dog/cat friendliness, etc in an effort to give those considering adopting as much information as we have. It is likely that we do not have the answer to any other questions, but will do our best ****

Meet William Shakespaw.

William Shakespaw is a goofy pup who loves to lay at your feet or lick your hands and elbows. He’s very energetic and loves to go on walks, play with doggie toys and is curious about his surroundings. He will follow you around the house and lay right at your feet and maybe nibble on your shoe to get your attention. He’s been in foster care for about a year where he is learning and thriving. He is good with other dogs, but his puppy energy and excitement could be too much for an older dog. He’s been good around small children but is also unaware of his size. He takes food gently out of a baby’s hand. He’d do best with a strong handler who’s patient and willing to help him mature and grow. The perfect family should be outgoing, outdoorsy, and preferably a family with older kids and even a younger brother or sister pup to play with. William is kennel trained, potty trained and walks well on a leash. He is still perfecting all his manners. He tends to get excited and may sprinkle but his belly band helps him control that emotion. The perfect adopter need lots of patience and consistency. He’s young and treat motivated so he’s working on being a very good boy. He has zero food aggression. His foster sisters have growled at him to back off and he doesn’t engage. When Amazon shows up with a package, he prefers to howl rather than growl to let you know. His foster mom has worked from home a few days and he’s an absolute dream. He loves attention and would be the perfect dog companion. William is crate trained and will go in quickly when you toss him a treat. He stays in his crate quietly all night. William finally realized what a comfy dog bed is and loves his fuzzy blankets. He’ll lay around all afternoon with you if you like. William goes on walks every morning and is excited as soon as he steps outside, once he’s leashed and walking, he’s a great walker and or running partner.

William Shakespaw was picked up as a stray in Spring 2022. He spent a lot of his first year in a shelter. At the end he was spinning in place in his shelter kennel, very stressed and very anxious. Who wouldn’t be after months of shelter life? He was put on the code red list just in September of 2022. He had been at the shelter for over 5 months. A foster gave him a chance and now he is thriving. He’s a beautiful young male with a shiny black coat and tuxedo front. He’s got the cutest spotted paws. He’s full of energy, his puppy years are behind him and all the good playful dog years ahead of him.

Crate trained
Potty Trained
Social with other dogs
Good around kids
Never has shown any aggression towards people or other dogs
Loves to play with other high energy dogs
Loves squeaker toys
Will sit on your foot
Up to date on shots
HW negative
Neutered
Loves to follow his foster family everywhere
Knows his basic commands
Loves to go on walks daily
Loves a warm cozy bed
Rides in car with his pee pad
Goes to a groomer for baths
Shiny & soft black coat
Friendly to Guests

—————————————
All PETronus Rescue dogs receive basic vaccinations (distemper/parvo, bordetella, & rabies), spay/ neuter, and microchip prior to adoption. We also treat any know medical issues, including heartworms.

Our dogs live in foster homes while they wait patiently for their forever families to find them. This is beneficial in that they learn house manners, crate training, housebreaking, etc while they wait and we are also able to get a very realistic picture of their energy level, temperament, etc so that we can place them in a home that is the best fit.

Our adoption fees are $200 for dogs over 1 year of age and $250 for dogs under 1 year of age.
