Willamina's Story

Willamina is a beautiful 9-year-old Chow/Terrier mix searching for a loving foster or forever home after recently losing the person she loved most. Through no fault of her own, this sweet senior is now facing a big life change and deserves a patient family willing to help her feel safe again.

At over 70 pounds, Willamina is a calm, low-energy companion who enjoys the simple things in life. She is potty trained, has obedience training, and has lived peacefully with both a German Shepherd and a Dachshund. She would do best in a home with older children (8+) who understand the importance of giving her space and letting her approach on her own terms. Her compatibility with cats is currently unknown.

Like many dogs who have experienced change, Willamina takes a little time to trust new people. She prefers to greet strangers at her own pace-sniffing first and deciding when she's ready for affection. Once she's comfortable, she continues to build confidence with patience and consistency. Her foster has seen tremendous progress as she's met new people, and she responds well to calm guidance and clear boundaries.

Willamina has no known health concerns, is spayed, and is content with a standard fenced yard, showing no interest in jumping or escaping.

If you have a quiet home, a kind heart, and the patience to let a deserving dog blossom, Willamina will reward you with loyal companionship. She's already lost so much-now she just needs someone willing to help her write her next chapter.
