Will's Story

My name is Will, and I'm a sweet, 1-2 year-old Lab mix with a story to tell. I didn't have the easiest start, found as a stray in Southeast Louisiana and facing euthanasia. But thanks to Take Paws rescue, I got a second chance just in the nick of time! I might be a little shy at first, as I was pretty scared in the shelter. But give me a little time to settle into a safe and loving home, and my true personality shines through! I'm a friendly, playful guy who's definitely true to my Lab roots. I absolutely love chasing balls, running around and playing with kids, and I might even love to go for a swim if you're up for it! I'll come to you up-to-date on all my vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. I am heartworm positive, but I have already started treatment, which is all covered by the rescue. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed. *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
