Will's Story
My name is Will, and I'm a sweet, 1-2 year-old Lab mix with a story to tell. I didn't have the easiest start, found as a stray in Southeast Louisiana and facing euthanasia. But thanks to Take Paws rescue, I got a second chance just in the nick of time! I might be a little shy at first, as I was pretty scared in the shelter. But give me a little time to settle into a safe and loving home, and my true personality shines through! I'm a friendly, playful guy who's definitely true to my Lab roots. I absolutely love chasing balls, running around and playing with kids, and I might even love to go for a swim if you're up for it! I'll come to you up-to-date on all my vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. I am heartworm positive, but I have already started treatment, which is all covered by the rescue. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion and a new running buddy, could your home be the one for me? Let's make some happy memories together!

PLEASE READ BELOW:

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt

**Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.

2025 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $400
Dogs over 12 months - $300

For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq

*Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as Pet Finder, and are no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.

*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
