Wiaka is a gentle soul with a heart full of love and loyalty. <br/><br/>Wiaka, along with his brothers Takota and Wapi, was transported to HEAR from the Cheyenne River Native American Reservation in South Dakota, home of the Dakota and Lakota Sioux. These boys narrowly avoided euthanasia due to severe overcrowding, and now they’re safe in Pinedale and eager for their second chance. <br/><br/>Wiaka is an 8-month-old Border Collie / Heeler mix. Wiaka (which means "Feather" in Lakota Sioux), is the second largest of the three brothers, currently around 45 pounds, so around 50 pounds when fully grown. We are a foster based rescue and ask that interested adopters call 307 367 6622 or 307 360 6000 for an appointment. We ask all applicants to fill out an application, which is verified. When approved and ready to adopt the new family member, adopters will fill out and sign a contract. We also consider foster to adopt applicants.
