Whitt's Story

Whitt is a majestic looking boy! He's about 55 pounds and about two years old. He arrived at our shelter as a stray already knowing simple commands like sit and shake. He loves attention and to be pet and belly scratched by humans. Whitt makes a good walking or hiking buddy. He prefers to play with female dogs and is selective about other male dogs. He would probably be happiest as an only dog. Whitt will require a fenced yard to explore and to satisfy his big curiosity. Powell County Animal Shelter 's Adoption Policy
We have an application form that gives us information about potential adopters' homes and family situations. This helps us to determine if an animal will be safe in their new environment, and if the new owner would be willing and financially able to care for a new pet and to commit to keeping it for the span of its natural life. In addition to logistical and practical questions, we encourage potential owners to think about how they will live daily with a new pet, and to understand what a lifelong commitment to a pet means.
