Whitney's Story

Whitney, an 11 lb female Papillon/ Chihuahua mix, 2 years old, she is very leery of strangers, does not bother the cat and is great with dogs of all sizes.

She is very sweet once she trusts you, but has had fear aggression before. She comes around pretty quickly with a patient person. Whitney will need a quiet spot in the home until she has decided to trust. She needs a person that will let her acclimate at her own pace. Once she trusts you she will be your Velcro dog forever. She loves to be with her person. She is super happy and does well with the whole household once she knows she has her person.

Whitney would probably do best in a home that doesn't have a lot of new people coming and going. She would love someone that is home often and wants a little companion dog.

This is a courtesy listing for one of our partners. All applications will be directed to Whitney's caregiver. Transport will be facilitated by us.

Whitney's adoption fee is $300 and transport is $175.

_______________________________
Considering adoption?

Start by filling out our online application (copy and paste the following link)
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DIX/Cat

Once submitted, we’ll review it and reach out to approved applicants by phone or email.

A Petfinder Inquiry is not the same as an application -

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. We only transport them once adopted, in most instances, we can be available for a video call once an application has been approved.

WE PERSONALLY TRANSPORT OUR OWN adopted animals to meet their new families. We transport every 2-3 weeks.
We facilitate adoptions through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and NY. Our dogs travel in comfort with 24/7 care. We have been facilitating long distance adoptions since 2019.

***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible. ***

We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents
