Hi, I'm Whisper. I am a gentle, sweet Aussie Shepherd and Border Collie mix who has made wonderful progress in foster care. My name suits me because I am a quiet soul, but I am learning that people can be kind and safe. I now regularly approach for pats, sometimes give kisses, and I am very gentle with people and dogs.<br/><br/>I love dogs. They help me feel more confident and secure. I am very polite even with dogs that are not friendly, and I avoid conflict. With dogs that are kind to me, I form strong bonds and love to cuddle. I would do best in a home with another calm and friendly dog.<br/><br/>I am still shy and sensitive to movement and noises. I like to relax near my people when things are calm, but if someone gets up quickly I retreat to my safe space. My crate is my comfort zone, and I like having access to it at all times.<br/><br/>I enjoy quiet walks and have excellent leash manners when I am calm. I prefer quiet areas like Trout Lake and do best with short walks at night. I am still working on potty training, so I will need patience and consistency.<br/><br/>I should not live with cats. I was too interested in my foster's cat and chased her. A very confident cat might be okay, but a home without cats is best.<br/>I am looking for a calm, predictable home with someone who understands sensitive dogs and is willing to move at my pace. I thrive with routine and gentle, positive reinforcement.
