Whiskey's Story
If you're searching for a big personality, loyal companion to share your heart and home with, look no further than Whiskey. This delicate little boy has the silkiest long coat, the kindest eyes, and a spirit as gentle as a whisper. His nose is shaped like a heart!

We recently found out Whiskey has some eye issues that required a veterinary specialty visit to Ophthalmology where his retinas became detatched suddenly and this affected his vision. He has typical spaniel/cocker spaniel eyes that drain. We've done all the work and imaging and medications and luckily his vision has been restored and he is on medications that will ensure his vision stays intact and his retinas have healed. His medication is about $30 per month.

Whiskey came to us shy and unsure of the world, but with patience, soft words, and gentle hands, he is slowly blossoming into the sweetheart we always knew he was. He is the kind of dog who thrives in a calm environment, where she can take his time to build trust and feel safe. Whiskey came from a domestic violent home, his person escaped the situation but could not take Whiskey with her, so she reached out to us to help him find a new loving home. Whiskey is about 8-9 mos old and his young life was uncertain and scary with loud arguments and fear filled nights.

His nature is a loving and loyal boy, he needs some confidence building and loves to do that with structured walks, commands and of course FOOD and TREATS. He will nap with you on the couch, and he sleeps in his crate in foster mom's room all night long. He eats fast so we slow him down with a slow feeder bowl. He is such a cute baby dog and really wants some stability and dedicated people. He thrives with other dogs and his favorite is a large Great Pyranees foster sister. He gets along with all sized dogs. He is curious about kids but he is still shy when he meets new people. Whiskey warms up within a couple of days and gentle instruction of where to eat, sleep, play and do his business.

Whiskey can get protective of his person but he is very pliable to kindness and treats, any stranger isn't so strange after they give him a tasty treat as a token of friendship.

Want to meet him? He's fostered in Morro Bay, CA and is available to meet and greet:
www.gonetothedogsrescue.org/adoption-application
