Westbury's Story

Meet Westbury.... The dog that is "banned" in two states for being a rebel!

*This dogs adoption fee has been sponsored, meaning there is no cost to adopt him from us!*

Man Oh Man does this dog have a long backstory...to keep it short, Westbury is banned in Colorado AND Wisconsin. In CO he got into a minor disagreement with another dog and was deemed "dangerous" and then he was sent to Wisconsin where he accidentally gave a Parrot a Heart attack and was again labeled as "Dangerous" and has been told he may not return to either state (Supposedly)... all because of irresponsible pet owners. These incidents were NOT westbury's fault, and when you meet him you will laugh at the thought of him ever intentionally hurting fly.

In between CO and WI he spent a few years baking in the Texas heat in an outdoor kennel at a rescue that has since been shut down due to neglect.

*Sigh* Can this dog catch a break?!

Westbury is now safely in our care, but hasnt found that forever family yet.

He is a great medium size, he is SUPER goofy but also very Mellow, and he really just wants a couch to curl up on in a home that loves him. He is fixed, up to date on vaccines, HW Tested, on preventatives, and microchipped.

Westbury is potty trained, crate trained, leash trained and knows a few commands. He really is a great dog and we know he will make a responsible family VERY happy!

Due to his past incidents, we unfortunately HAVE to find him home with no other pets. He is however great with kids and all humans!

The only "Negative" thing we can say about this boy is that he HATES... LOATHS... Nail trims. He has to be sedated for them, but handles sedation very well.

To inquire about adopting Westbury and for more info, please either fill out the application when prompted through petfinder, email us, or message us on Facebook!

We require an approved application and a meet and greet here at the rescue for every adoption.

The adoption is finalized usually after the meet and greet (which usually only takes 30mins). We do offer Foster-to-adopt scenarios for some adoptions that we want to make sure are going to work out before finalizing things!
