Wesley!

This oh so handsome but innocent, sensitive, and adorable dispositioned lad has been at PPC since November 28th. He was on the euthanasia list at an overcrowded shelter in Georgia and despite pleas to adopt and rescue him, he was languishing and due to space constraints, was added to the list. Wesley spent the majority of his young life in a shelter, surrendered back in June to the shelter in Georgia at just a few months old. All he knew for 5 months, was an existence of chaos, sharing a kennel with several other dogs at any given time, and survival mode.

Wesley is an 11 month old Anatolian shepherd mix with the cutest docked tail that wags up and down. He arrived to us a bit anxious and whined quite a bit but after a couple of months of reassurance, attention, and lots of enrichment, he is ready for his next journey.

Wesley has spent a lot of time as office dog and he is the perfect greeter to our patrons. He is calm, mannerly, and extremely submissive. His favorite thing in the world is belly rubs and he will sprawl out anywhere to receive them. He loves to give hugs and whimpers as he is giving them which melts our hearts! Wesley has also been on a couple of hikes with volunteers and he is great on leash and loves to explore nature and the beauties of this area.

Wesley is also kennel trained and housebroken which is a huge plus for those who work. His ideal home would have children and even another dog for him to learn the ropes from. He is a sensitive old soul in a youngster’s body and will need time to acclimate as shelter life is all he’s known. He is also curious and at times mischievous so make sure you have lots of toys and things to keep him stimulated.

We are honored to have Wesley under our care and so happy we could save him from such dire circumstances.

Wesley is a lean 60 lbs but thinks he’s a lap dog. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on preventatives, and tested negative for heartworms.

We're open Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 5 p.m but are doing meet & greets and adoptions by appointment only.

The adoption fee is $135 which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, & spay or neuter.
