Say hello to Wendall! Wendall is a 45‐pound, 2-year-old Hound/Labrador Retriever mix with a heart that’s learning how good life can be. He was rescued from a hoarding situation in Barnwell, SC, where he lived outside his entire life with his mother Darlene. She lived on the chain for 12 years alongside her children and has now found her forever family. Now, it is Wendall's turn. Each day, Wendall grows more confident and trusting, discovering that people can be kind and that comfort is something he deserves.<br/><br/>He's dog‐friendly and feels his best when he has other dogs around, as having a canine companion helps him relax and shine. For this reason, he must go home to a family with another dog. Wendall is also wonderful with older kids and cats, making him a gentle, easygoing addition to a calm home.<br/><br/>This sweet boy has a quiet resilience and a loving spirit that’s emerging more and more with every wag of his tail. Wendall is ready to find a family who will give him the patience, friendship, and love he’s waited so long for.<br/><br/>Wendall is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.<br/><br/>Given the conditions Wendall originated from, upon rescue, he tested positive for Heartworm disease. Thanks to Home for Good Dog Rescue, Wendall has completed his Heartworm treatment. <br/> <br/>*Heartworm disease is a serious and if left untreated, fatal disease. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected animals, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs in the body.
