Weeman's Story

A060198 Weeman; neutered Australian Cattle Dog mix; est. 1 year, 6 months; 42.4 lbs
Contact: Calaveras County Animal Services
📱 (209)754-6509
🌐 Website: https://animal.calaverasgov.us/
📧 Email: animal@calaverascounty.gov

Weeman came to us with his name already attached, perhaps earned by being a fairly compact little dude.

Weeman is quite pleasant out on walks, though seems to have had zero training prior to arriving at the shelter. At first, he was very afraid of all touch from people. Over time and with lots of loving care from our skilled dog whisperers, he has learned that he is safe and sound in the shelter.

He now accepts and enjoys some touch, though he is still getting over being head shy. He's not a cuddler... yet. Our hope is that once he settles into a loving, calm home and has a chance to bond with an owner he'll feel more relaxed, be able to trust that he's safe, and will continue to welcome increasing levels of contact.

Weeman will need to be neutered before he can go home with you.

He keeps his inner kennel pretty tidy, so although we can't make guarantees he may be easy to housetrain.

We do not have info on his attitude toward cats at this time.

As always, a meet-and-greet is required if you have other dogs at home.
