Waylon's Story

Meet Waylon!!!

This handsome 4-year-old, 75-pound guy came to us from another shelter and is ready for a fresh start. Waylon is a big, energetic dog who thrives with activity and engagement, so he’s looking for a home with someone who enjoys staying active and feels comfortable handling a strong, large companion. He’s very people-friendly and loves attention, happily leaning in for pets and connection.

Because of his size and enthusiasm, Waylon’s energy can be a bit much for younger kids. He would do best in a home with older children, and we ask that any younger kids meet him ahead of time to make sure it’s a good match. Waylon is a smart boy who already knows sit, shake, and down, and he enjoys learning—especially when calm behavior is rewarded. Once he settles, his softer side really shines.

In a foster home, Waylon was a good boy with no concerns, and when he’s relaxed, he loves to unwind with a toy or a chew. His enthusiasm can be overwhelming for other dogs, so we recommend he be the only pet in the home. Waylon is looking for a dog-savvy adopter who appreciates a big personality, is willing to continue his training, and is excited to help him be his best self. In return, you’ll get a loyal, affectionate companion with a whole lot of love to give.

He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives.
If you have further questions, please call the shelter at (517) 626-6060 or email our adoption staff at adoptions@AdoptLansing.org.
