Waverly's Story
Meet Waverly!

Waverly came to us in early March 2024 with an unknown injury to her front leg. We didn't know anything about what was going on except that she wasn't putting any weight on her leg. Puppy or not, in a shelter that doesn't allow any public adoptions an injury of any sort can be a death sentence. Other than not using her leg, Waverly was a happy, loving girl so we really didn't expect her x-rays to look as bad as they did - a broken elbow right through the growth plate! After consulting multiple vets and surgeons, including Auburn University, everyone agreed the best course of action for her long term health and happiness would be amputation.

Amputation surgery barely slowed Waverly down at all and now she's completely recovered and happier than ever! Waverly just turned a year old just before Thanksgiving 2024 and doesn't even remember life before she lost her leg. She's great with dogs of all sizes. As a matter of fact, she's great with everyone! This girl truly has never met a stranger!

Interested in adopting?
