Meet Wanda

Meet Wanda, a delightfully goofy and slightly clumsy 7 month old mixed breed puppy eagerly awaiting her forever home. Wanda is a spayed female with a unique blend of intelligence and charm. She is around 40lbs and thought to be a shepherd mix, her DNA test results will be in soon! She’s not just adorable; she’s also housebroken and crate trained making her an ideal companion for any household.
Wanda’s intelligence shines in her quick learning and adaptability. She loves mental stimulation, whether it’s learning new tricks, playing interactive games, or simply exploring her surroundings with curiosity. Her breed heritage gives her a distinctive appearance that is sure to capture hearts wherever she goes. Wanda is good with other dogs but can be an alpha at times. She must be fed separately from other dogs as she seems to be a resource guarder, this can change once she realizes that food is plentiful. She was found as a stray so this is most likely the source of that. Her foster is very diligent and picks up the bowls after everyone is done and does not bring the food container in the common area. Wanda does get slightly jealous when other dogs are receiving attention. She does take toys from her fosters other dogs and they allow it. When the fosters dogs do correct Wanda, she accepts the correction and moves on. She is challenging their less dominant females in the home. She does try to challenge their alpha male sometimes but he shuts her down pretty quickly.

She crates well when her foster is away from home and at night, though at night she prefers to be crated in the same room as her foster since she does not like being alone. Wanda does enjoy ropes and squeaker toys as well as emptying her fosters toy bin one toy at a time. She also enjoys watching The Dogist TikTok videos and hopes to one day be featured with her cute big ears. But one thing you should know is her absolute favorite thing… Ice tax. If you plan to get ice from the freezer you have to pay the tax and give her one to munch on.

Wanda hasn’t been cat tested but based on her daily walks and interest in bunnies and squirrels, she could possibly chase a cat. Wanda has been walking 3 miles a day (half in the morning and half at night). Despite her youthful energy, Wanda knows how to relax and enjoy cuddle time with her human friends. She is kid friendly but she is still learning her manners and she can still be a little mouthy.  A home with kids 10 years and older would be best. She’s affectionate and enjoys being in the company of people forming strong bonds quickly. Wanda would thrive in a loving active home where she can continue to grow and learn alongside of dedicated family. If you’re looking for a smart housebroken companion who promises a lifetime of love and friendship, Wanda might just be the perfect match for you.
