Wanda's Story

Wanda is a seven-year-old, 47-pound Australian Cattle Dog with all the classic features of the breed—including a stumpy tail and the signature white “Bentley mark” on her forehead. Likely a purebred Blue Heeler, Wanda embodies the personality traits that make this breed beloved: she is loyal, intelligent, protective, and quick to learn.

Wanda was previously adopted but recently returned due to reactivity toward small animals. Because of this, she will need a home with other dogs around her size, or to be the only pet. With people, however, Wanda is affectionate and eager to please. She thrives on structure and purpose and would love an active adopter who understands the needs of her breed.

Wanda does have valley fever that she is on medication for, but it doesn't seem to slow her down one bit! Hard to break this sweet girls spirit.

She’s a wonderful companion for someone who can provide consistent guidance and help her channel her natural energy into positive outlets. Once Wanda trusts you, her loyalty runs deep.

Her adoption fee of $225 includes spaying, vaccinations, a microchip, and a complimentary wellness exam at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital.

To meet Wanda, call 602-971-1334 and schedule an appointment during adoption hours, Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wanda is ready for a fresh start with someone who understands her and will love her unconditionally.
