Walter (Hospice Program)'s Story
Welcome, Walter! This handsome boy is settling into his new chapter and embracing the quiet comforts of farm life. It took him a couple of weeks to fully understand that this is home, but once he did, his personality began to shine. His first introductions were to the guinea hens, who loudly announced his arrival with their "stranger danger" calls while following him around - much to everyone's amusement. Thankfully, mutual acceptance was reached, and peace was restored.

Walter has since met the pigs and goats (a quick sniff was all it took for full approval), and he happily coexists with the big dogs, often cuddling up with them at bedtime. He's still learning the ropes with the kitten, especially when food is involved, but overall does very well. He enjoys frequent trips outside with his caregiver and is adjusting beautifully to the calm, loving rhythm of farm life.

His hospice caregiver shares: "He is doing so well here. I'm deeply touched and grateful for all of the love and gifts being sent his way. There is still so much good out there. Thank you for allowing me to love and care for this beautiful boy."

Walter requires a prescription diet, with food costs totaling $107.47 per month. Donations help ensure he continues to receive the specialized care, comfort, and love he deserves.

Support Walter's Care:
Donate here: https://checkout.shelterluv.com/donate/GFR

Shop Walter's Wishlist: https://a.co/aur0cec

About Our Hospice Program

Grey Face Rescue & Retirement's Hospice Program is dedicated to senior dogs with limited life expectancies. We proudly pull dogs from humane euthanasia lists - often placed there simply due to age or illness - and give them the gift of comfort, dignity, and unconditional love.

Our hospice seniors receive quality medical care, cozy beds, warm blankets, delicious treats, and plenty of affection. Sometimes that even includes a special trip for their favorite fast-food treat. Most importantly, they are given the chance to spend their remaining days, weeks, months, or even years feeling safe, cherished, and at peace.

With your support, dogs like Walter can cross the Rainbow Bridge knowing they were deeply loved.
