Walter's Story

Meet Walter!
Walter is a 4-year-old, sweet and energetic boy who's ready to find his forever home. He has been around children and does well with them, making him a great candidate for a family looking for an active and affectionate companion. Walter is full of enthusiasm for life and thrives when he has plenty of mental stimulation and physical exercise to keep both his body and mind engaged.

Like many energetic dogs, Walter has shown some destructive behaviors, but these are manageable and can improve with time, patience, and consistency. He is a quick learner who responds well to structure and routine. We recommend kennel (crate) training, introduced gradually and positively, to help prevent destructive behavior, reduce opportunities for escape, and support the development of healthy boundaries. Ongoing supervision, the use of physical barriers, and training focused on impulse control and door manners will also set Walter up for success.

Walter has a history of bladder stones, and one has been surgically removed. For this reason, his future family should be committed to monitoring his urinary health so any recurrence can be detected and addressed quickly.

If you're looking for an energetic, loving companion who will keep you active and reward your efforts with loyalty and affection, come meet Walter today!

Cheyenne Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
As Wyoming’s largest animal adoption agency, CAS has the widest selections of cats and dogs, rabbits, small mammals and more in Wyoming. Visit our shelter today, or visit Adoptable Cats, Adoptable Dogs or Working Cats to view pictures and profiles of all pets in need of homes! Visit our website to see available animals or visit the adoptable animals at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. We have three large dog adoption rooms, “cat alley” and critter space. While visiting the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, a CAS adoption counselor will help you find the pet who is the best match for your family and lifestyle. Once you find your match, a Cheyenne Animal Shelter staff person will begin the adoption process, which often takes as little as an hour. Once you have reviewed all adoption paperwork, you’ll pay the adoption fee. Then, you’re ready to take home your new furry family member.
