Walter's Story
Meet Walter! He's a 10ish year old 15lb gentleman who doesn't ask for much! He likes to doze in a comfy bed and get the occasional scratch and treat. He's great with other dogs (basically ignores them) and sleeps through the night. If you can open your home and heart to loving an older dog, Walter will repay you with loyalty and love.

His foster says:

"Walter is a very sweet senior (10+) looking for a soft bed, some good scratches, and smells to sniff.

I believe he's quite vision and hearing impaired, but walks well on a leash and he learned to navigate his new home quickly.

Walter’s friendly with my 4yr old nervous chi-mix, Pappy, though mostly just indifferent. He’s been busy getting familiar and relaxing. Pappy is pleased with how little attention Walter pays to him. Walter hasn’t shown in interest in toys, but loves a treat.

I only heard his voice once when he barked after testing his feelings towards crate sleeping. He was not a fan, and prefers a bed or some blankets on the floor, where he slept quietly all night.

I gave him a bath and he didn't mind at all :)

Walter doesn't need much. A comfortable place to hang out, some yard strolls or slow neighborhood walks, and a patient, loving family for his twilight of life. He would make a great, calm, quiet companion for anyone looking to provide an old man some much deserved love."

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
To adopt Walter, apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt.truenorthrescue@gmail.com to follow up on your application.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE.
