Walter's Story

Walter is a goofy and happy boy with lots of fun energy who’s ready to be your best friend! He is housetrained, crate trained, and knows some basic commands. His favorite things include going swimming, playing with his toys, and training with yummy treats! He would prefer to be an only dog in an adult only home. We also believe he would do best with a dog savvy family who will continue working on his training. ?

Walter is about 3 years old and currently around 80 lbs.

For our adoption application visit here: https://www.buddydoghs.com/adoptable-dogs

We are only open by appointment. Buddy Dog Humane Society's Adoption Policy
***NEW COVID-19 ADOPTION POLICIES*** If you are interested in adopting this animal, please submit an online application at buddydoghs.org. Applications will be reviewed as received. If in our opinion a pet is a good candidate for you, an adoption counselor will contact you to schedule a zoom chat. If you do not hear from us it simply means either the animal has been adopted or we have not received the right pet for you. The application process is at no charge to you and only needs to be completed once as all applications will be kept on file. ***NEW COVID-19 ADOPTION POLICIES*** All our adoptable cats and dogs are on-site in our kennels. Our staff is familiar with each animal and can discuss the needs, behavior, and temperament of each pet with you. Some pets may have a minimal history, but our staff can guide you by sharing observations we have made while interacting with them. We make every effort to match you with a friend for life. Interested adopters are welcome to visit with the pets; dogs can be taken for a walk on the property or visited in our playpens. To protect our animals and visitors, we can only allow individuals seriously considering adoption to interact with the pets. For those interested in sharing their time with the dogs and cats but are not considering adoption, our volunteer program offers a great opportunity to share the love! A pre-adoption interview and application to qualify every adopter. Please note that we do not adopt out-of-state, and adopters must be 21+. As part of the application process, prospective adopters should be prepared to provide proof of home ownership and renters need to provide a lease that states they are permitted pets at their residence. The bulk of the application is used as a tool for our adoption counselors to educate & guide adopters in areas of pet care they may not be familiar with. Our experienced staff is available to counsel adopters on pet care, behavior, and other issues. Within a few weeks from the time of adoption, all adopters are contacted by a pet counselor to ensure the transition is going well and answer any questions or concerns that may arise post-adoption.
