Wally 's Story
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Breed: Chihuahua
Weight: 12lbs
Age: Approx 6 years
Sex: Neutered Male
Energy level: Medium
Cats: Not officially tested but met a cat on a walk and ignored it so we think would be fine.
Dogs: Yes, Wally is dog friendly however he gets along best with calm dogs who aren’t in his face so he will be looking for a quiet home without energetic dogs.
Kids: Wally is fine with kids but again prefers calmness so will be looking for a home without young children.
Medical: Wally had surgery for a diaphragmatic hernia about a month ago. He also has one abscessed tooth that needs to be removed.
Behaviour: Wally is incredibly cuddly with his humans and can be protective of his food around other dogs so needs a quiet space to eat his meals.
Adoption fee: $550

Wally is ready to find his forever home! Like many of our dogs, Wally had a ruff start to life. Ending up in a shelter and then needing an extensive surgery this boy has seen it all! Despite his beginnings, Wally is an incredibly happy, outgoing snuggle monster. He can often be found curled up on his foster parent’s lap or hiding bones and treats around the house.

Wally’s other great qualities include walking like a champ on a leash, being crate trained and house trained (his foster mom worked on his house training in the beginning) and being happy to meet new people.

We think Wally would be happiest in a home where someone is home often as he is so affectionate and loves to be with his people, with either another calm and quiet dog or no dog, and with someone who will walk him often as he LOVES his walks and is used to going walking with his foster mom a few times a day.

Wally is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and has had his surgery re-check which he passed with flying colors.

If you think your home would be a good match for Wally, please complete an adoption application here: https://www.ruffstartrescuesociety.com/adoption-application-form and one of our directors will be in contact with you via email within a few business days
