Our good friend Sunshine got a call from a friend on July 15th that said there was a pit bull running lose at a Walmart in Rockmart. When she arrived, Animal Control was also there to get him. She told them she would take him. AC helped her load him in the car and she took him home. He was covered in fleas and ticks. He got a bath. Then she called every vet, grooming salon, and shelter in 20 miles to see if anyone was looking for him. She left her name and number with all of them. Last Saturday, a client brought her dogs in to be groomed at Sunshine's facility and was shocked to see Wally. The client said she knew Wally - he had been dumped on Brushy Mountain 3 weeks prior to Sunshine picking him up. This road is a dirt road in the middle of nowhere, about 5-6 miles from Walmart. Whoever had him had been hitting him. When you try to pet him on the head he acts like you’re going to hit him. It only took 3 days to teach him to walk on a leash, sit, and down. He is super smart!! Because of his abusive past, Wally is weary of most men. He would probably do best in a female home.
