Walker's Story

Please read the entire description before applying.

These small-breed puppies, born on October 29, were surrendered to a shelter by a breeder due to an unexpected litter. They were then transferred to our rescue for proper care, socialization, and a fresh start. It is believed they are Chihuahua and Jack Russell, and because this breeder also has Dachshunds, it's possible the litter may have two fathers, which is not uncommon in mixedbreed litters. Their variety of colors and markings certainly reflects that possibility — but what they all share is the same sweet, expressive faces and gentle, peopleoriented temperaments. They enjoy being loved and held. Some may be a bit shy at first, but none are fearful—just cautious until they warm up. They are raised in caring foster homes where they receive daily socialization and plenty of human interaction. Because of the cold weather, they have also been trained to use a litter box, which can make the first few days at home a little easier.

Adoption Requirements:

A fencedin backyard suitable for a small dog (no invisible fences). If your condo or HOA does not allow fencing, we may consider your application on a casebycase basis.
An adult who is home during the day and able to provide the time, supervision, and companionship a puppy needs.”
No crating for puppies. Adopters must use a puppy playpen, which provides a safe, contained space with room to move and reduces stress. We will share recommended options once your application is approved.
Children in the home must be 7 years or older. Younger children may be considered if they have grown up with a dog in the household.
Homes with no dogs or a small dog will be considered (no multidog households).

All puppies are vetchecked, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and have received heartworm and flea preventatives. Puppies will be spayed/neutered on Jan 20 and can leave for adoption soon after. The adoption fee is $450.

To adopt, please complete an online application on our website by clicking the "Adopt" button under the puppy's photo. www.indianasaveadog.com.

Adoption Event – January 24th, 1–4 PM (Invite Only)

We will be hosting a private adoption event in St John, Indiana on January 24th from 1–4 PM. This event is by invite only, and you must have an approved application to attend. We will not be accepting applications at the event.

All available puppies without a deposit or pending will be available at the event.
