WALDORF $375's Story
Waldorf is a 4-year-old Doodle mix that weighs 54 pounds. He is truly enjoying learning how to be a dog. He is a sweet, affectionate boy who will happily cuddle with anyone willing to sit down with him. He also likes to stay informed about everything happening in the neighborhood, so if there’s anything going on outside, Waldorf is ready to keep watch.

He is just beginning to figure out toys and is still a little confused by the idea of fetch — at this point, when a ball is thrown, he mostly gives a funny look as if to say, “Now why would I do that?” He is making great progress, though, and continues to learn more every day.

Waldorf does very well overnight in his crate without any issues. When left alone, he has been staying in a blocked-off kitchen area with his crate door open, and he handles that setup just fine. He has also proven to be adaptable to a very unpredictable routine, doing well even with a hybrid work schedule that changes often. As an added bonus, he enjoys watching Bluey on the iPad while his people are away.

He is still learning to walk on a leash, but he is making progress. He has not been much of a barker so far, though he has let out a howl or two when he felt he was being ignored a little too long. Overall, Waldorf is a charming, funny, and affectionate dog who is settling in beautifully and learning the comforts of home life.

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$375+tax for ages 4-7
$275+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full time jobs, have families and also foster dogs. Thank you for considering Lucky Mutts Rescue for your next furry family member!
