Meet Violeta <br/><br/>Violeta is a beautiful soul—funny, loving, intelligent, enthusiastic, curious, and full of joy. Her short life has already presented some big challenges, but her light shines brightly, and she is ready for a future filled with love, adventure, and new beginnings.<br/><br/>Dumped at a shelter as a puppy, Violeta bravely overcame kennel cough and Parvo. We knew, however, that something was holding this beautiful girl back from reaching her full potential. After some time and careful investigation, we finally had the answers: Violeta was born with an anogenital cleft, a congenital condition that will require some ongoing care but does not define her future.<br/><br/>Even before we had a diagnosis, we were learning how to help Violeta thrive. She has adapted beautifully and is now an amazing, happy 6-month-old pup who is ready to experience everything life has to offer. We know the right family can be her hero by continuing the simple routine that keeps her healthy, comfortable, and happy as she grows.<br/><br/>A Joyful Companion<br/><br/>Violeta loves life! She enjoys walks, car rides, yard work, exploring nature, playing with toys, meeting new people, playing with other dogs, and chasing squirrels, bugs, and birds.<br/><br/>She would especially enjoy another energetic, playful dog who can match her enthusiasm while also being comfortable entertaining themselves.<br/><br/>Violeta is a true Velcro dog in the very best way. She loves being near her people and is endlessly curious about what they are doing. If you are working on something, she wants to watch. If you do something interesting, she may examine it and try to figure out how to do it herself!<br/><br/>She simply wants to be part of the action. She is perfectly happy chewing a bone or playing with a toy beside you on the sofa, but she may also work her way into your lap when she decides it is time for some love.<br/><br/>And those eyes! Her sweet, sparkling expression and that adorable one-ear-up-at-all-times look are irresistible. Her care is simple and easily incorporated into a normal routine.<br/><br/>Typically, after she uses the bathroom, she needs a quick cleaning with a wet wipe. She also benefits from a more thorough rinse of her backside daily or every other day to make sure she stays clean and comfortable. A walk-in shower with a flexible shower head makes this quick and easy—and Violeta actually does very well with her rinse!<br/><br/>Her needs are manageable, but her future family should be committed to maintaining this routine and helping her stay healthy and comfortable.<br/><br/>Could You Be Violeta's Hero?<br/><br/>Violeta doesn't know that she is different. Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. <br/><br/>Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. <br/><br/>Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog.
