Violet 's Story

Meet Violet 💜
A big, lovable “people dog” who just wants to be close—really close.
Violet’s story didn’t start the way any dog deserves. She was abandoned in the middle of town and left to wander in the cold, scared and alone in a place she didn’t recognize. Thankfully, our humane officers were able to safely bring her in where she could finally relax, warm up, and start over.
Even after being let down by someone she trusted, Violet hasn’t let it dull her love for people—not even a little.
This girl is a true PEOPLE dog.
She hasn’t met a single person she didn’t immediately want to shower with kisses and affection. At about 2–4 years old and a sturdy 65 pounds, Violet believes—with her whole heart—that she is a lap dog. Not just your sidekick… she wants to be as close to you as physically possible. If there’s a way to scoot closer, she will absolutely find it—rudely, but very adorably.
What we know about Violet so far:
• Thrives on human attention and affection
• LOVES a good butt-scratch session
• Does great going potty outside during walks
• Knows how to sit on command
• Food-motivated and enjoys treats
• Lower to medium energy—perfect candidate for “lazy house hippo” status
• More interested in love and cuddles than toys
Violet would be perfectly happy with short daily walks or relaxing yard time, followed by curling up right beside (or on) her person.
Because she is still fairly new, we’re continuing to learn more about her:
• She hasn’t been formally tested with children yet, but based on her affectionate personality, we imagine she would love them
• If she goes to a home with another dog, we would want to do a proper introduction to make sure everyone is comfortable
What Violet wants most in life is simple—a person to love, a warm place to rest, and someone who doesn’t mind a 65-pound cuddle bug sharing their personal space.
If Violet sounds like the perfect match for your home, we invite you to stop in during our normal business hours to meet her. Our staff would be happy to introduce you and help you learn more about adopting.
